Voters in Texas have a lot to decide on the March 3 Election Day, with Senate, Governor, Attorney General, and many local races on the ballot this season. Primaries are elections used to select candidates in each party. for the general election

Dallas County Democrats, in particular, have a hefty ballot to fill out—this year, the Democratic ballot has nearly 400 candidates and 13 propositions.

If one candidate doesn’t receive more than 50% of the total vote, a runoff election will be held May 26. Winners of the Democratic and Republican primaries will face off in the midterm election on Nov. 3. 

The Senate race is sure to be the one to watch, with State Rep. James Talarico and US Rep. Jasmine Crockett vying for the Democratic nomination.
