According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, summer in North Texas should be cooler than usual—and it might be because of all the stars touching down in the 214.

Despite Gov. Greg Abbott recently suggesting SXSW artists “Don’t come back,” the state’s summer concert lineup—especially here in the DFW—is still booked and busy. Go back in time with The New Kids On The Block or Alanis Morrissette at the Dos Equis Pavilion or maybe turn it all the way up with hype performances from Jennifer Lopez or Megan Thee Stallion at the American Airlines Center.

Either way, now is the time to call your bestie and secure a seat to one of the summer’s hottest tours.

COURIER DFW Pick: It’s so appropriate that Texas native Megan Thee Stallion is kicking off summer in the DFDubb when she coined the phrase “Hot Girl Summer.” We’re excited to see her shine as a more mature artist with a substantial catalog of energetic hits that will remind us to not take life too seriously.

JULY

COURIER DFW Pick: We’re most looking forward to see J. Lo because there’s no denying she can put on a show. Tickets for her concerts are moderately priced this year considering her superstar status. J.Lo performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2020 and had us on our feet with her moves and now you can get a ticket to see her in-person starting at $28!

AUGUST

Third Eye Blind (w/ Yellowcard),  Aug. 1 – Dos Equis Pavilion – 6:30 p.m.  Buy Tickets Here

The Roots (w/ Digable Planets),  Aug. 17, Toyota Music Factory, 8 p.m.  Buy Tickets Here

COURIER DFW Pick: Third Eye Blind has our money for August. Their hits take us back to simpler times and the tone of their music just feels like how summer nights should. Yellowcard will also be a fun wildcard as they’re known for their early 2000s hits, but have recently released a new album we suspect will show a more emotional side of the pop-punk act.

Near the DFW
