During a ceremony on May 9 it was announced that the new team would be named Dallas Trinity FC.

Council Member Chad West and his children attended the official announcement by the team Klyde Warren Park.
Expressing his excitement, West said, “This news means so much to so many soccer fans, but especially young girls like my eight-year-old daughter who has played soccer since she was old enough to walk.”
West also praised Mayor Johnson for his leadership in bringing professional sports to Dallas and Council Member Adam Bazaldua for his efforts to revitalize Fair Park and the Cotton Bowl.
