US Rep. Jasmine Crockett celebrated with supporters during a public swearing-in for her second term at the Hall of State at Fair Park in Dallas on Jan. 28, where she was joined with her mother Gwen Crockett and Judge Audrey Moorehead on stage.

“ I think that today will probably mean more to my district than my last swearing-in,” Crockett said. “Because we are definitely living in scarier times. So I am so elated and grateful to have another opportunity to serve, but more importantly, to be able to share my swearing-in for a second term with the people that sent me to DC.”

Crockett was first sworn into the US House District 30 seat in 2023, representing parts of South and Central Dallas, and Tarrant County. The Democrat was the youngest Black lawmaker in the state when she joined the Texas House in 2021, and filed more bills than any other first-term lawmaker.
