The Queens Head Pub is opening in Dallas’s Deep Ellum neighborhood in May. Here’s everything you need to know.
One of my fondest memories took place on my 18th birthday. My mom and I were at a restaurant for lunch, and the World Cup was playing on every single TV there—and on pretty much every TV at every bar, restaurant, and apartment in the surrounding area—since it was a USA match day. We were just getting ready to have dessert when Landon Donovan scored the only goal of the game and the entire neighborhood erupted in cheers and applause. It was a perfect moment of joyful celebration that made me finally understand British pub culture in a way I never had before.
Luckily, this cherished memory of mine has the potential to be recreated during the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup (Jun. 14-Jul. 14), especially since the Queens Head Pub will be opening its doors for customers a month before the first matches kick off. The establishment is the second project for the Deep Ellum Collective, who previously launched The Terrace in September 2025. The Queens Head occupies the space previously held by the Green Room at 2713 Elm Street. Eric Bradford is in charge of the Deep Ellum Collective, and he’s no stranger to running unique food and entertainment venues (he’s currently the CEO of the Bomb Factory). He explained in a statement why the group was so excited about its Queens Head project.
“Queens Head Pub captures the spirit of a traditional English pub while embracing the energy and authenticity of Deep Ellum. This is more than just a pub — it’s a gathering place that celebrates tradition, camaraderie, and the vibrant culture of the neighborhood. As our second concept, it sets the tone for what’s to come as we continue to introduce projects that contribute to the revitalization of this historic district,” Bradford wrote. According to the pub’s official website, “It’s a fresh take on the traditional pub experience, built for Dallas locals who appreciate good food, good drinks, and even better company.” So it’ll look and feel like you’re in the UK without sacrificing any of the charm and comfort of being in Texas. Sounds like a dream come true if you ask me.
The Dallas-based architecture and design studio Droese Raney designed the space, which expands from the original Green Room floorspace into a neighboring unit. The final restaurant is 6,000 square feet in total and has a bar stretching over 40 feet, which will hopefully cut down on the amount of elbowing you’ll need to do when you’re ready to order. That impressive bar was actually in the Green Room before, and Droese Raney saw it as a way to incorporate the city’s history into a brand new venture. Additionally, the Queens Head Pub will house a private dining area, communal tables, cozy nooks, a lounge space, and a 2,000-square-foot rooftop patio.
Drink and menu items
The Queens Head Pub is getting ready to serve up “full pints, hearty plates, and the kind of friendly atmosphere you only get where people actually know each other’s names” in the Deep Ellum community. Those hearty plates include items like steak and ale pie, fish and chips, bangers and mash, Scotch eggs, shepherd’s pie, curried mussels, Guinness beef stew, sausage rolls, and the QHP burger. Traditional British desserts will also be served, like the delectable toffee bread pudding. (Yes, it is as good as it sounds).
In terms of beverages, beer is usually at the heart of any pub experience whether it’s in the US or in the UK. English ales, Guinness, full pints, and draft domestic beers will all be served, but there’s also a wine and spirits menu, plus craft cocktails, if beer isn’t your speed. Soft drinks will be available for those like myself who are looking for nonalcoholic options.
