Valentine’s Day is all about romantic gestures, like showing your loved one how well you know them with a thoughtful gift or treating them to an unforgettable date.
This year, make Valentine’s Day extra special by keeping your celebration close to home and supporting Black-owned businesses across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. From unique experiences to decadent desserts to fancy dinners, these 10 Dallas-Fort Worth businesses offer everything you need to create a Valentine’s Day that’s heartfelt and memorable.

1. Flowers to Go
Address: 225 Calhoun St., Ste. 170, Fort Worth (Note that Flowers to Go doesn’t offer in-store shopping, but curbside pickup and delivery options are available.)
On Valentine’s Day, you can’t go wrong with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Flowers to Go, a Black-woman-owned floral design studio, has many Valentine’s Day arrangements available, ranging in price from $65 to $275. Add to your Valentine’s Day gift with a luxury fragrance or bath product from Flowers to Go’s sister store Parfumerie Marie Antoinette.
2. Hotel Dryce
Address: 3621 Byers Ave., Fort Worth
Spoil your special someone this Valentine’s Day with a staycation at Hotel Dryce. Entrepreneurs Jonathan Morris and Allen Mederos transformed a dry ice warehouse into a vibrant 21-room boutique hotel in the heart of Fort Worth’s cultural district.
The rooms feature modern, minimalist furniture and are decorated with street photography by a local artist and traditional Oaxacan handmade blanket curtains. The lobby bar, which serves handcrafted cocktails and mocktails, craft beer, and wine, is the perfect spot to grab a drink before your Valentine’s Day dinner.
3. Kitchen + Kocktails
Address: 1933 Elm St., Dallas
Nothing says “I love you” like a plate of mouth-watering comfort food. Whether you and your date are craving braised short ribs, jerk lamb chops, or fried salmon and grits, Kitchen + Kocktails’ menu of elevated southern comfort food has you covered.
The upscale environment, with pale pink furniture and flowers covering the ceiling, sets the tone for a romantic dinner.
4. Loft22 Cakes
Address: 106 E. Daggett Ave., Fort Worth
If you prefer to skip dinner and drinks and dig straight into dessert, Loft22 Cakes should be on your radar. The Black-owned bakery sells a selection of stunning signature cakes that will satisfy any sweet tooth.
There are classic flavors like dark chocolate, fun flavors like pink animal cracker, and those that are perfect for Valentine’s Day, such as strawberries and champagne, and raspberry Chambord. (Many of the cakes can be made gluten-free, too.)
5. My Chocolate Secrets
A box of chocolates is a classic Valentine’s Day gift, and at My Chocolate Secrets, you can get that and much more. The gourmet artisan chocolatier handcrafts a wide range of decadent treats, from bonbons and truffles to macarons and molded chocolate figures.
Most desserts can be ordered online and shipped, or you can enjoy them on-site with dinner and drinks. Chocolate Secrets is also hosting a Valentine’s Day event with live music, wine and champagne, handcrafted desserts, and a gift for $98.
If you can’t make the Valentine’s Day event but still want to give a more interactive gift, sign up for a chocolate-making or chocolate and wine pairing class.
Address: 3926 Oak Lawn Ave., Dallas
6. Olphactory Candles + POUR’d
Address: 12640 E. NW Hwy., Ste. 402, Dallas
A candle from Olphactory Candles is a great gift idea—they’re hand-poured, luxurious, and sustainably made—but a candle-making class in an intimate studio space makes for an even better present. This Valentine’s Day, the class will have charcuterie and snacks, and guests can bring their own beverages. You’ll learn how to make a candle and take home what you create.
7. Pressed Roots
Address: 320 Singleton Blvd., Ste. 160, Dallas
Give your Valentine the gift of great hair this year by booking them an appointment at Pressed Roots. Press Roots specializes in silk blowouts, the salon’s version of a silk press, and offers a few add-ons, such as smoothing and deep conditioning treatments.
Opt for the private press if you want to treat your Valentine to some extra pampering. This option includes a silk blowout in the VIP room and access to a mini bar stocked with beverages and snacks.
If you want to let your Valentine pick the day and time of their appointment instead of booking for them, give them a gift card that can be redeemed for a signature silk blowout.

8. Snap Bakeshop
Address: 1430 Dragon St., Unit 1, Building 2, Dallas
Your Valentine will surely appreciate a decadent cake, fudgey brownie, or freshly baked cookies from Snap Bakeshop, but if you want to treat them to something extra sweet, get tickets to the bakery’s Valentine’s Day dinner.
The event includes a pre-fixe plated dinner with cocktail and mocktail pairings and a hands-on dessert experience during which you and your sweetheart can decorate your own pre-frosted bento cake.

9. Val’s Blue Label
Address: 1112 S. Akard St., Dallas
If a box of chocolates is your go-to Valentine’s Day gift but you want to switch things up this year, consider a cheesecake from Val’s Blue Label. Some flavors are classics, like strawberry and raspberry, while others are more inventive, such as Lovers Lane, which features a red velvet cake crust and crumble.
Val’s also hosts classes during which you’ll learn how to make cheesecake, with a special class on Valentine’s Day that also includes sangria and rosés.

10. Winsome Prime
Address: 331 Singleton Blvd., Dallas
Dining at Winsome Prime is a treat any time of year, but the Black-owned fine dining establishment takes things up a notch for Valentine’s Day.
This Valentine’s Day, in addition to live music and complimentary roses for female diners, Winsome Prime will offer a three-course prix-fixe menu for $95 per person. The meal consists of an appetizer, entreé, and dessert, with a few options for each course, including crab beignets, pan-seared halibut, and rum butter cake.
After dinner, continue your romantic evening in the Bonnie and Clyde speakeasy, where you’ll be treated to more music and cocktails.
Note: Reservations are recommended, and there is a dress code.
