The Cowgirls will have their work cut out for them as they will be going up against serious competition.
Season 2 of America’s Sweethearts lost out on last year’s Emmy to another Netflix show called Love on the Spectrum โ a series that follows adults with autism as they navigate the world of dating and relationships. The reigning winner hopes to add more hardware to their achievements. This show also won this category back in 2022.
Also returning is four-time nominee and two-time Emmy Winner (2023 and 2024), FX’s Welcome to Wrexham, which is a sports documentary following actor Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as they purchase and manage the historic but struggling football club (soccer) in Wrexham, Wales.
Another returning show and 2021 Emmy winner was VH1’s (previously MTV’s Drag Race) RuPaul Drag Race Untucked โ a behind the scenes look at the pressure of competition which offers insight into drag queen’s personalities, friendships, and backstage conflicts. RuPaul has been a consistent competitor being nominated every single year since 2016.
Lastly, comes the newcomer Summer House, which is a popular TV reality series airing on the Bravo network that follows a group of young professionals who work in Manhattan during the week and spend their summer weekends unwinding at a shared house in the Hamptons.
Whether they take home the award or not, the recognition alone reinforces the show’s growing cultural significance and its ability to captivate a global audience.
