Back to school is just around the corner for students in the DFW area—and the extra expenses that come with it can be overwhelming for families.
Here’s a list of upcoming back-to-school drives where families can receive free supplies and services.
Saturday, Aug. 1
Back-to-School Supply Event
Where: Keller Williams Realty
550 Vigor Way, STE 200, Rockwall
Time: 12-3 p.m.
Keller Williams will be offering essential school supplies needed for the start of the school year, along with low-cost vaccines and sports physicals. There will also be a limited number of free, first-come-first-served haircuts.
Kid Carriage 5th Annual Backpacks and Haircuts
Where: Ryan Family YMCA
8250 McCart Ave., Fort Worth
Time: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Kid Carriage Transportation and the Ryan Family YMCA will have free backpacks and school supplies while supplies last. They are also offering free haircuts, health and community resources, and giveaways and raffles.
Back to School Health Fair—2026
Where: College Park Baptist Church
6360 JJ Lemmon Rd., Dallas
Time: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
College Park Baptist Church will be offering health screenings for both children and adults, and is offering free school supplies for all children, free school clothing for elementary students, and laptop raffles for middle and high school students.
Drive-Thru Backpack & School Supply Giveaway
Where: Pleasant Oaks Recreation Center
8701 Greenmound Ave., Dallas
Time: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Glenbrook Child Development Center and Walton Inspires will have 2,000 backpacks at Pleasant Oaks Park available while supplies last. There will also be family activities, community resources, and vendors on site.
Saturday, Aug. 8
UCF Back 2 School Giveaway
Where: United Christian Fellowship Church
5015 New York Ave, Arlington
Time: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
United Christian Fellowship Church of Arlington Texas will have free backpacks with school supplies for children ages 5-16. There will also be family activities and free ice cream during the event.
2026 Back to School Free Haircuts and School Supplies
Where: Riverside Barber & Beauty Institute
707 N Riverside Dr., Fort Worth
Time: 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Riverside Barber & Beauty Institute will have free backpacks and school supplies while supplies last. There will also be free haircuts for children in pre-K through twelfth grade. The institute highly recommends to RSVP to ensure a spot. While you wait there will be free food, a community pop-up market with resources, and giveaways.
Summer Birthdays and Back to School Event
Where: Point North Park
725 Synergy Park Blvd., Richardson
Time: 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
Season of Smiles Foundation will have backpacks and school supplies at Point North Park while supplies last. The event will also have bounce houses, face painting, and giveaways. Registration is required.
Back to School Blitz Event 2026
Where: Pathway Church
325 NW Renfro St., Burleson
Time: 12-3 p.m.
Pathway Church will have school supplies, haircuts, community resources, and family support services available during the event While free to the community, registration is requested to help organizers prepare for the event.
Back to School Bash
Where: Kids Company Academy Childcare & Preschool
6831 Matlock Rd., Arlington
Time: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Kids Company Academy will have free school supplies available while supplies last. There will also be bounce houses, a water slide, food and drinks at the event.
