On Wednesday night, University of Houston students heard from US Representative Christian Menefee as he discussed key issues currently challenging lawmakers. Students later spoke with Courier Texas about the major concerns they’re carrying into the upcoming midterm elections. From uncertainty surrounding environmental careers and federal agencies to rising worries about college affordability and shifts in education policy, many said the stakes feel higher than ever. Students also emphasized the importance of safety and support for immigrant and first‑generation communities on campus.
