On Tuesday, Democratic nominee for Texas governor Gina Hinojosa rolled out her economic platform Tuesday in Houston, saying she wants to use the state’s $27 billion Rainy Day Fund to boost public schools and send $1,500 to every Texas household. Hinojosa says rising grocery prices are squeezing families and argues the fund is being hoarded instead of helping Texans. She says her plan would put money back into classrooms, communities, and Texans’ pockets.
