Texas mandates English‑only testing for Commercial Drivers License applicants

Texas just shook up its commercial driver rules in a big way. Temporary worker IDs are back, but every written exam now has to be in English. And the enforcement won’t stop at the testing center. Troopers and inspectors will be checking English proficiency during roadside stops and at weigh stations, pulling any driver out of service if they can’t communicate clearly. No interpreters allowed, period.
