Rabbits, rabbits, rabbits. Happy April!

No, that wasn’t an Easter greeting, but rather a superstitious phrase I remember hearing as a child. Rabbits are said to be good luck, so many moons ago people started saying “rabbit rabbit” (different iterations will drop or add a “rabbit”) as their first words at the start of each month. 

Have you heard of this before? Do you say it?

Here’s one more fun fact about rabbits—they were my only pets growing up. I probably had six or seven over the course of my childhood thanks to some pet store in Denton telling my dad that they were the cleanest, quietest options for kids. A museum visit isn’t solely about experiencing current exhibits or viewing items in the permanent collection. In an effort to help build upon their artistic vision, museums also try to tap a skilled architect to design the building in which all of this takes place. At Fort Worth museums, this thoughtful, intentional decision-making regarding a museum’s inaugural building or subsequent extension has led to some incredible works by renowned architects.

Here are five Fort Worth museums in which the building’s architecture is just as important as the works inside. Read on to discover how architects blended these hubs, which hold amazing collections of art and other objects, with their natural surroundings.

🍦 Protein Blue Bell: The national protein craze has hit a beloved Texas brand. Dubbed “Blue Bell Pro,” it’s the same Texas ice cream you know and love, but with about 33 additional grams of protein. Five flavors are available in DFW stores now. (Culture Map Fort Worth) 

📣 Student group suspended: UT Dallas has suspended a pro-Palestine student group following a protest at the school’s May 2025 graduation. While the group claims they the didn’t coordinate the demonstration, UTD has barred them from meeting on campus and accessing university resources until February 2027. 🍬 SNAP, crackle, kale? Starting today, Texans can no longer use their SNAP benefits to buy soda and candy. Last year, the Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 379, co-authored by Collin County state senator Angela Paxton, to confirm these parameters, that also include nuts, raisins, and candied fruit.
