The US Senate has passed its version of President Donald Trump’s tax and spending bill, and Texas Republican Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz are bragging about their contributions. 

What Sen. Ted Cruz wanted 

✅ $1,000 “Trump account” to every American child to use for education expenses, a home down payment, or to start a business

✅ Tax credits for people who contribute to nonprofits that grant scholarships to K-12 students (more support for the school voucher program)

What Sen. John Cornyn wanted 

✅ A reimbursement to Texas for its financial contribution to militarizing the border

✅  A tax eliminated on select firearms and silencers

✅  A relocation consideration of the Space Shuttle Discovery from Virginia to Houston

The bill also:

✔️ Cuts Medicaid and SNAP
✔️ Rolls back clean energy tax credits
✔️ Defunds Planned Parenthood
✔️ Gives major tax breaks to billionaires

The House now has to pass the bill, and, although, tweaks are likely, the bill is expected to pass.
