It’s a hot one, and it’s only going to get hotter. A heat advisory has been issued for Houston with triple-digit days ahead, which has me looking for ways to cool off.
My preferred method of beating the heat is enjoying cold drinks with a kick, which is why you can find me reading a good book in this Montrose coffee bar while sipping on a THC-infused iced coffee.

Last week, the beloved Houston Toy Museum announced on social media that it will be closing the doors at its 19th Street location in The Heights on Aug. 30.
The museum’s owners, Matt and Sara Broussard, wrote, “After a great deal of thought and many sleepless nights, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close our doors at the end of the summer. This is not what we envisioned as the ending to our time on 19th Street and it comes with a lot of sadness.”
The Broussards explained the reason behind the unexpected closure, saying, “Like many small businesses, we’ve faced the reality of rising expenses and a cost of rent that ultimately became unsustainable for us.”
