“At minimum, all gun owners should be licensed and insured. To be licensed, they have to pass a safety and education course/exam including a background check. We do the same thing for cars and if there’s something that Texans love more than guns, it’s cars. This seems like common sense to me.
Bring back the assault rifle ban and ban on bump stocks and other aftermarket mods. Bring back laws restricting access to gun ownership if convicted of a violent crime including domestic violence.
I’m torn on conceal vs. open carry. But regardless, there are some places that should be weapon-free like schools, churches, large events, etc.
