Weed Shop Owner’s Plea to Texas Governor Amid THC Ban

| | | | | | |
The Go Easy shop owner has planned for the worst, but still hopes Gov. Greg Abbott will veto the Texas Legislature-approved ban on THC in the state. Mathias is sad about the way canna-business owners have been villainized when she believes their products improve lives. Abbott can block the bill, sign it into law, or never sign it, and it still becomes low. Either way, Go Easy will still be around to sell their hemp products, which are not affected by this bill. TX THC Attack About Alcohol, Says Weed Shop Owner

| | | | | | | |
Molly Mathias, owner of a Dallas cannabis shop, says she believes the recent THC ban in Texas (approved by the legislature, but still awaiting the governor's signature) is the result of lobbying efforts by the alcohol industry. A majority of Texans (62%) favor the legalization of recreational maryjane, according to a recent University of Texas poll. Yet Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has championed a ban on THC-infused products. (Patrick, by the way, has accepted tens of thousands of campaign dollars from beer and liquor distributers.)
