State Sen. Taylor Rehmet (D-Fort Worth)—a staunch advocate for public education—spoke at the American Federation of Teachers’ conference over the weekend, where he shared why not just Texas, but the entire nation, should be investing in public education. Rehmet will face Republican Leigh Wambsganss in the general election for Senate District 9, which represents parts of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, on Nov. 3.
