Federal Temporary Protected Status for Haitians has ended after the US Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Trump administration, which planned to end it for Haitian and Syrian immigrants, opening the door to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deportations. US Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-Texas) supported extending protections for Haitians and others, calling the uncertainty unacceptable.
