State Rep. Jolanda Jones (D-Houston) shared the importance of the Black vote during this year’s Texas Democratic Convention over the weekend in Corpus Christi. Jones, who is a member of the Texas Legislative Black Caucus, said Texas Democrats can’t assume the voters Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett and Vice President Kamala Harris inspired will show up—their votes must be earned.
