Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux is defending the city’s Flock camera program, calling it a valuable tool that helps officers investigate crimes and keep the public safe.
Dallas operates roughly 670 AI-assisted Flock cameras across the city. But the technology is under growing scrutiny nationwide. Officers in multiple states have been accused of misusing Flock’s license-plate database to track people outside of legitimate investigations.
Flock itself has acknowledged that officers “can” misuse the system, and says they “should be held accountable” when they do.
