Houston Mayor John Whitmire offered strong praise for Democratic state Rep. and James Talarico during a gathering at the home of US Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-Houston), telling supporters he believes Talarico is “soon to be US Senator Talarico.” Whitmire highlighted Talarico’s record on criminal justice reform and affordability issues, saying he has always been a dependable partner in government and someone who consistently shows up to do the work. The mayor also urged supporters to stay engaged in the campaign, saying, “Every day matters, and every day is like your life depends on it, because it does.”
