Trump spent much of Tuesday’s debate lying about his position on abortion, repeatedly spreading conspiracy theories about Democrats executing infants, and downplaying the very real consequences of the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Unless our country gets a reality check about who we elect to office and we educate ourselves on their positions, we women have no hope of deciding whether we want to start a family or not—or if we want to carry a rapist’s child. Even as the Biden administration publicly warned hospitals to treat pregnant patients in emergencies, facilities continue to violate the federal law. The issue became a focus for the administration following reports of women being improperly treated in emergency rooms after the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn the constitutional right to an abortion more than two years ago.
