Camp fees could increase up to 4,000% in aftermath of summer floods

A new set of regulations drafted by the Texas Department of State Health Services, set to go into effect next year, includes upping summer camp licensing fees to help increase safety measures, such as a dedicated camp safety inspector for the state. The rules come nearly five months after the Hill Country floods led to the deaths of at least 136 Texans, including children who were attending overnight summer camp.
