When composers Albert von Tilzer and Jack Norworth, the minds behind the song “Take Me Out to the Ball Game,” were penning lyrics back in 1908, baseball foods were much more limited. “Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack” — there wasn’t a whole lot to buy at a game back then. And if you really dig into it, Norworth had never even attended a baseball game; he was just writing lyrics based on snacks he enjoyed.
Today, dining options at MLB stadiums are far more advanced. The Texas Rangers are coming off the first World Series championship in franchise history. They’re looking to repeat in 2024, and they’re making sure their fans are well-fed. Wondering what to eat at Globe Life Field? Here are eight of the most unusual food items available at a Texas Rangers game.
Boomstick Triple Play
Last year, the Rangers unveiled the Boomstick Burger, which had enough meat and cheese to slow down even the most vigorous of fans. The burger is back this year, this time with a few friends.
While you may not see a triple play on the field, you can make it happen in your seat. The burger — featuring two Nolan Ryan beef patties — is accompanied by a foot-long hot dog topped with Texas Chili Company Chili, Rico’s Nacho Cheese, grilled onions, and jalapenos. You’ll also get a container of nachos topped with the same ingredients as the hot dog.
This behemoth will run you $32.99 and feeds up to four people, so hopefully, you visit with some friends (or have a hearty appetite).

Brisket Egg Rolls
It wouldn’t be Texas without a heaping helping of brisket, and the Rangers deliver on several fronts. You can try brisket tacos, brisket sandwiches, and brisket macaroni & cheese, all of which are delicious. Yet our pick for the most unusual brisket-based item is the brisket egg rolls. It’s a fan favorite — truly, as a Rangers fan created this option in 2020 during a recipe contest.
The egg rolls are packed to the brim with brisket and Napa cabbage and served atop a bed of Togarashi-seasoned fries with a side of Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce for a little extra BBQ flavor.

Corn Ribs
Pulling out your bib to chomp down on some BBQ ribs isn’t very practical, and trying to sneak bites of street corn in between pitches could be cumbersome. So, Globe Life Field has combined the best of both worlds: Corn on the cob presented in rib form. The corn ribs are tossed with spicy lime crema and served with cotija cheese and tajin seasoning.
You’ll still have to figure out what to do with the ribs once you’ve stripped away all the corn, though your fingers likely won’t be as messy.

Korean Pork Steamed Buns
Handheld items are always a good choice at a ball game; another new menu addition is embracing that mindset. For $15.99, you’ll score three Bao buns filled with pulled pork, cilantro slaw, spicy mayo, and Unagi sauce. You can also find a trio of tacos — with stylish Rangers red shells — though the Bao buns are more of a unique twist.
Available in Sections 124 and 230
Meatball Garlic Knot Sliders
It loves you, it loves you knot. This Italian dish is filled with classics. You’ll get a trio of meatballs smothered in marinara sauce and tucked between garlic knot buns.
Though they’re perfectly sharable, we fully understand if you indulge in them all by yourself. We’d just recommend not eating it all in one stack like it’s pictured here.

Peach Cobbler
Texas may not be known for its peach production, but if you’ve got a sweet tooth, it’s one of the more underrated gems on the dessert menu. The crust is sturdy without being overbearing, and those peaches sure do hit the spot.
Of course, you can level up the cobbler with a scoop of ice cream. Honorable mention goes to the funnel cake (Sections 29, 105, and 230), though there’s an incredibly high risk of powdered sugar spilling onto you and the majority of the seats nearby.
Available in Sections 201 (Sky Porch) and 202
Ranchero Chile Relleno Dawwg
If you think the classic ballpark hot dog needs an upgrade, the Ranchero Chile Relleno Dawwg is for you. Does the extra “w” stand for “winning?” Probably not, though it fits with the Rangers’ success last year. Either way, this new menu item knocks it out of the park.
The all-Angus beef “dawwg” is stuffed with queso chihuahua, wrapped in roasted banana pepper and bacon strips, and topped with grilled onions. The Martin’s potato roll helps accentuate all those savory flavors. It costs $15.99 and will certainly keep you full — feel free to leisurely stroll around the bases after that home run.
Available in Sections 121 and 225
Smoothies
The typical beverage of choice at a baseball game is an enormous soda (souvenir cup optional) and, for the 21-and-older crowd, a frosty beer or two. Something that doesn’t get as much love is smoothies. For fans not craving a drink without artificial sweeteners, get a refreshing blend of some classic berry flavors. Should you find yourself in a more festive mood, add a shot of alcohol to the mix.
