Planning a celebration for a soon-to-be groom? These DFW bachelor party destinations and ideas offer fun and thrilling adventures for everyone.

A bachelor party is an exciting time. The groom-to-be’s friends and family come together for a last hurrah, honoring the transition from single to married life. If you’re tasked with planning such an occasion, it might seem a bit overwhelming.

You could easily rent a large home, grab a case of beer, and hang out with the crew indoors all night. But couldn’t you do that anytime? You’re in Dallas—take advantage of it!

Here are seven ideas for DFW bachelor party destinations and ideas to create a memorable celebration the whole group can enjoy.

1. Take a foodie tour

Dallas is an underrated culinary hub. Sure, BBQ and Tex-Mex get most of the headlines, though you can find delicious examples of just about anything, from burgers to pizza to pasta to desserts. However, trying to plan meals for a large group with varying tastes in cuisine adds stress that you don’t need to worry about. So why not let someone else handle all of that?

Excursions like the ones from Food Tours of America and Secret Food Tours are a great way to experience local dishes of any place you’re visiting and an excellent chance to bond. Whether your group of guys goes back years and years, or it’s a mix of friends from throughout the groom’s life, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to feast and be merry. It’s hard to ask for more than that!

2. Complete an artwork scavenger hunt

While you’d expect cool works of art at the Dallas Art Museum or Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas has a ton of impressive murals and sculptures hanging around town. They’re often displayed on walls just around the corner from bars, particularly in Deep Ellum, so you can reward your work with a nice thirst-quenching beverage.

There’s plenty to see, though the Traveling Man series is perhaps the most stunning. It’s a trio of sculptures spread out over a few blocks, depicting a metallic creature surrounded by a handful of birds. In the first scene, he’s just peeking out of the ground. In the second, he’s lounging and playing guitar. By the third scene, the man is towering across the city, standing 40 feet high but still looking super friendly. And making new friends is always a good thing during a bachelor party.

3. Dress like a Texan

If you’ve got people coming from out of town, you’ll want outfits that are fit for a Texan, particularly with some of the other activities on this list. Perhaps you all chip in to buy the groom a new pair of boots or a belt buckle, or you each grab something less expensive to rock with pride throughout the weekend.

There is no shortage of Western wear stores throughout Dallas. Stop by Wild Bill’s, Tecovas, or Teres for expert guidance on upping your clothing game.

4. Go retro gaming

Cidercade Dallas sports over 100 retro arcade games to let the competitive spirits fly. Queue up for a pop-a-shot, with the winner getting a free round. Take to the open (virtual) road in games like Cruisin’ World. Put your teamwork to the test in a game like Killer Queen, which has the added benefit of drawing a crowd of onlookers. Sometimes, being the most popular group at the party is as exciting as the party itself. Nerdvana is another fun gaming bar, and its proximity to FC Dallas games makes it a strong combo idea.

For an alternative gaming theme, Game On! is a “fun rental company” that’s been delighting Dallas partiers for two decades. You rent machines and carnival games yourself, from Skee-Ball to casino setups.

5. Shoot some (clay) pigeons

Though Dallas and Fort Worth offer skeet shooting locations, head to Waxahachie for the most unique experience. The Porch has glow-in-the-dark skeet shooting alongside nighttime axe throwing. The staff is accommodating, so in the likely event someone in the party is new to shooting clay pigeons or throwing axes at a bullseye, you’ll all be in good hands.

Sticking with the home builder theme, The Porch also sports The Deck, a 3,000-square-foot outdoor entertainment area. You can play even more games, grab a handcrafted drink, and share embarrassing stories about the groom around a bonfire.

6. Attend a sporting event

When it comes to professional sports teams, Dallas has an embarrassment of riches. You can catch the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, and Dallas Stars in the fall and winter. The spring and summer bring the Texas Rangers, Dallas FC, and Dallas Wings—and those are just the “major” sports.

Any of those would make for a great bachelor party setting, but why not go for something less common? The Dallas Legion plays in the Ultimate Frisbee Association, the Dallas Jackals is the city’s first professional rugby team, and the Panther City Lacrosse team is local to Fort Worth.

Or, go the collegiate route and cheer on the Dallas Baptist University Patriots or Southern Methodist University Mustangs. If the bachelor party is in March a few years from now, check out the NCAA Tournament venues—Fort Worth and Dallas are regular regional sites. The former hosted the first two rounds in 2022, while Dallas was home to games in the 2024 Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight. And it’s a ways out, but the 2030 Final Four will be hosted at AT&T Stadium.

7. Visit the Fort Worth Stockyards

The Fort Worth Stockyards have plenty of entertainment, but the highlight is the rodeo every Friday and Saturday. It’s the world’s only year-round rodeo. Bull riding, barrel racing, and several different kinds of roping make for a highly vibrant atmosphere.

If you happen to visit during summer, grabbing an ice-cold beer is one of the best rewards for a hard day’s work of sightseeing. No matter the time of year, heading to Billy Bob’s to see a live show is the ideal activity to ring in the night. Learning how to line dance and two-step and then displaying it on the floor is a memory your buddies will remember for quite some time. Just don’t be shy about asking a partner to dance!
