Justice groups across Houston are calling for a mass turnout Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ervan Chew Park, demanding answers in the killing of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. More than 30 organizations—including Immigrating Youth Texas, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Democratic Socialists of America, and FIE —held a press conference Friday afternoon urging an independent investigation into the fatal ICE shooting of Araujo and an end to local police cooperation with ICE. They’re asking Houston to show up Sunday.
