House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia (D-Houston) met with Houston workers, business owners, and community leaders Monday to discuss the impact of ICE enforcement and mass deportation policies. During the roundtable, participants highlighted growing fears in the workforce, with one recent survey finding nearly one in four Texas construction firms reported workers leaving or not showing up to work because of fear of deportation.
