Morning y’all,
Last week, pop-punk rock band My Chemical Romance opened its Los Angeles residency with a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders-esque tribute that now has the band in hot water.
During a performance of their hit song “Teenagers,” women dressed in uniforms nearly identical as the world-famous DCC dancers took the stage carrying fake rifles and pretending to shoot one another, falling to the ground one by one. See the alarming clip here.
Many fans in the audience and online initially thought these were actual DCC members on stageâand that confusion is now fueling legal action from Pro Silver Star, the company behind the DCC. The band continued using the cheerleader lookalikes throughout its weekend performances.
What do you thinkâartistic license or way too far? Write in and let me know.
Below, find out what issues are inspiring some Dallasites to vote this year. Want to add your motivations to the list? You can also write me to weigh in.

Earlier this month, we asked our Nextdoor audience about the issues fueling their votes this year. Some had very specific reasons, while others came with a more simplistic response. Letâs take a look.
Michael M.
âMoving on a different direction.. Governance that actually works for the people.â
Tina F. âTo keep âwe, the peopleâ alive! Each (vote) counts to keep our lives together!â
Rene G. âEpstein files, Paxtonâs years of corruption, Greg Abbottâs ineptitude⌠I could keep goingâŚâ

According to an Enforcement Report recently released by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), more than four million tubes of toothpaste have been recalled across the country. The FDA recall was initially issued on Sept. 10, but was week was changed to a Class II recall. A Class II recall is the second-most serious level of alert within the FDAâs system, and “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”

I recently crossed another DFW coffee shop off of my must-try list, and it may be my favorite of the year.
I love a good local spot that offers quality coffee and matcha, creative drinks, and nice vibesâbut I’m also partial to cafes that serve real food. While croissants and muffins are nice, give me a menu that includes sandwiches, quiches, salads, and smoothie bowlsâyou know, more substantial meals.
Kingsmen Coffee, located on West Wheatland Road in Duncanville, delivered not only on the drinks, but also with a selection of breakfast bagels that may be the best in the area.

I ordered a butter pecan latte that truly tasted like a Texas fall in a cup, plus a sweet potato pie muffin that came topped with the tiniest of marshmallows. It was sticky and succulent (I really want to say moist, but I hear that people hate that word).
The real gem, however, was the steak, egg, and cheese bagel: tender slices of nicely seasoned steak, fluffy eggs, and American cheese. And the everything bagel it was stacked on really set it offâbuttery, toasted along the inside edges, and still soft on the outside.

And I love the space itself: Kingsmen has a large dining room that includes seating in a loft area, which you can rent for meetings and community meetups.
If you decide to give this cafe a try, let me knowâyou’ll probably see me there.
