We asked Dallas residents what’s inspiring their vote this election. Here’s what they said

Earlier this month, we asked our Nextdoor audience about what issues were fueling their votes this year.

Earlier this month, we asked our Nextdoor audience about what issues were fueling their votes this year. Some had very specific reason, while other answers were simple. Let’s take a look.

Michael M.
“Moving on a different direction.. Governance that actually works for the people.”

Tina F.
“To keep ‘we, the people’ alive! Each (vote) counts to keep our lives together!”

Rene G.
“Epstein files, Paxton’s years of corruption, Greg Abbott’s ineptitude… I could keep going…”

Scott F.
“To protect America. Not to ever let the borders be wide open again… for starters.”

Kay J.
“Candidates with integrity, ethics, honesty, who agree with my MAJOR CONCERNS (doesn’t need to be every thought!), concern for the law/ Constitution.  I want a candidate who stands up for me, not the party or President.”

Drew G.
“Ending the GOPs 2 decade reign of destruction in TX”

Diane P.
“Democrats”

Walter E.
“I hate Trump, his sycophants, his lies, Paxton’s lies and theft and what they have done America.”

Brian H.
“Data Centers is my focus – although I was unaware they existed last year”

Joe. T
“Hard to sum it up to a short answer, but my vote is inspired by a hope to: continue the recent gains in border enforcement/immigration policy, tax policy, strong foreign policy including a hard stance on Iran, and energy policy. We can’t afford to lose ground on any of these essential metrics.”

Anna S.
“Not to become a place like Russia or Cuba – all of us better think about this voting time.”

Betty Anne T.
“Being an American citizen – (voting) is a right and duty.”

Lyn T.
“Character”

Walden P.
“Democracy and corruption”

Kim P.
“Just do your research independent from Fox OAN, CNN. Use Reuters, NPR, BBC. We are a laughing stock around the globe. We have fractured our reputation and relationships around the world…we have fractured our own country… Texas can do so much better for human rights and not vilifying immigrants.”

D.S.
“All of the above. Praying for a return to decency, as well.”
