Morning folks 🧇
Is being extremely entertained by signs at protests the equivalent of watching the Super Bowl for the commercials? 😆 I mean, I respect that there’s a historic moment unfolding that means a lot to many, and I will always take a moment to honor creativity, ya know?
Let’s take a look at some of the best signs we saw at “No Kings” rallies this weekend.

And below, Stephanie from Garland protests with her family. Check out her Lady Liberty sign. 😂

Abbott native and country music icon Willie Nelson announced his annual Outlaw Music Festival Tour, which will see the 93-year-old singer/songwriter taking the stage alongside other big names. His popular Fourth of July Picnic event is also scheduled to take place during this run of shows. Joining Willie Nelson & Family on the road for two of his Texas stops (The Woodlands and Dallas) are Sheryl Crow, Wilco, Lily Meola, Margo Price, and Stephen Wilson, Jr. The Austin date will welcome that exciting bunch along with Billy Strings, Rodney Crowell, and Lukas Nelson.

Right at the line of Sachse and Garland, 30 Brunch is open six days a week. (Joi Louviere/COURIER DFW)

I’m forever on a search for places I can get breakfast at any time of the day, and was happy to learn about 30 Brunch House. You’ll find these all over northwest DFW, but I visited one in Sachse on a weekday afternoon. This location is only six months old and has a cute, modern diner feel. There is a full bar in the back with a corresponding cocktail menu I’ll have to dig into next time.
On their menu, you’ll find crepes, French toast, omelettes, and five different kinds of benedicts. They also prepare salads and burgers if you’re dining with someone who isn’t in a breakfast mood. I wanted a heartier option and ordered steak medallions with eggs and hash browns.

It was an afternoon in a suburb, so I wasn’t surprised the restaurant was quiet, but that meant I got my food quickly. It was nothing fancy, but I really enjoyed my meal. These little steak nuggets may not look like much, but they were tender and seasoned well. This was the most expensive meal on the menu at $18. Most meals sit between $13 and $15.
My brunch guest got the breakfast rollup, which is essentially a chorizo burrito. There were lots of “mmms” when eating commenced.

The four 30 Brunch House locations seem to have the same menus, but they appear to be independently owned, so they have separate social media pages and websites. Want to try the other locations? Tap the city below.
