When it comes to donuts, Dallas has no shortage of options (thank the breakfast gods). But according to our readers, one donut shop rises above the rest: Hypnotic Donuts. This quirky, beloved donut shop wins gold with its creative flavors, playful vibe, and dedication to deliciousness.

The donuts at Hypnotic are extraordinary. Hypnotic calls itself “Dallas’ first and best craft donut shop” for a reason. Their menu features everything from classic glazed options to donuts topped with bacon, cereal, or even jalapeños. Yep. There’s a donut there for everyone: both donut and coffee traditionalists and fun foodies looking for the next new thing.

While the fun donut toppings might grab your attention, it’s the baked-in quality that keeps customers coming back. Hypnotic Donuts makes its goods fresh daily, and their bakers take great care to ensure that the final product is fluffy, moist, and oh-so-good.

Hypnotic Donuts first opened its doors in 2010. What began as a small venture quickly gained a cult following thanks to its quirky charm. Over the years, it has cemented its reputation as a must-visit destination for anyone craving out-of-the-box donuts in Dallas. In fact, Hypnotic Donuts has gained national accolades as one of the “Top 33 Donut Shops in America” according to Thrillist, one of “101 Donut Shops with Serious Street Cred” according to NY Magazine, one of the “Top 23 Hottest Donut Shops in America” according to Eater, and many more.

Hypnotic Donuts also sells a fantastic biscuit. So even those oddball people (like me) who can’t handle a sugary treat for breakfast can enjoy something scrumptious with their morning coffee at Hypnotic. Not only do they serve a “Down Home” biscuit and a variety of filling chicken biscuits, but there’s also a PB&J option, a PB&H option, and more delicious seasonal flavors.

When it comes to fan-favorite donuts, The Evil Elvis reigns supreme. Buzzfeed named it one of “33 Donuts You Have to Try Before You Die.” Jenny’s Evil Elvis, currently on the menu, features peanut butter, banana, bacon, and honey. It may sound nuts, but the combination of salty and sweet, with the peanut butter and honey creating a rich, creamy base and the bacon adding a satisfying crunch — it’s to die for.

Hypnotic Donut is conveniently located in the Lakewood area of Dallas at 9007 Garland Rd, Dallas, TX 75218. This spot is easily accessible and surrounded by your charming neighbors in the Lakewood neighborhood, making it a perfect destination for a morning treat or a midday indulgence.
