During Monday morning’s State Board of Education meeting, Jacinto Saenz, an English teacher in Garland ISD, testified against a proposed required reading list that would force Texas students to read passages from the Bible.
The board will vote whether to approve the list, which has been slammed by critics for being too long and including too many Christian passages, by the end of the week.
